18K Gold PVD

All of our gold options online are created with 18k gold-pvd coating. This type of gold is a great alternative to solid gold because of its price, durability, and versatility for different lifestyles and activities.

The PVD Gold covers the base metal with a thin layer of 4 to 6 gold microns, where gold plated as it often represents a thin layer of 3 microns.

Because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-pvd jewelry lasts exceptionally longer and stands up to wear and tear. This material is hypoallergenic and non-tarnish for everyday wear, especially in water. Even with daily wear, they are made to last around 20-30 years without tarnish.

See our FAQs below for more details on how to care for you 18k Gold-PVD jewelry.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a type of metal alloy that contains at least 10.5% chromium. The chromium in stainless steel forms a thin, protective layer of chromium oxide on the surface of the metal, which makes it highly resistant to tarnish, rust, and corrosion. This unique property of stainless steel makes it a popular choice for jewelry, especially for pieces that are worn regularly and come into contact with moisture, such as rings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Stainless steel jewelry is highly durable and long-lasting, and it can maintain its luster and shine for years with proper care. It is also hypoallergenic, making it a great option for people with sensitive skin who may have reactions to other types of metal. Additionally, stainless steel is relatively affordable compared to other precious metals, making it a great choice for people who want stylish and durable jewelry at an affordable price point.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is regarded as a precious metal, composed of 92.5% pure silver, making it durable and stronger than solid silver. It is also hypoallergenic and nickel free, offering a great alternative to solid silver. However, because it is softer than gold filled metals, it can be susceptible to scratches from daily wear if not cared for properly. Some tarnishing can also occur if its metal is exposed to any chemicals. It can be easily cleaned using one of our polish pad that comes with every order.

Cubic Zirconia

what is it?

Cubic zirconia is the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide. The synthesized material is hard and usually colorless, but may be made in a variety of different colors. It should not be confused with zircon, which is a zirconium silicate. It is sometimes erroneously called cubic zirconium

Cubic zirconia isrelatively hard, 8–8.5 on the Mohs scale—slightly harder than most semi-precious natural gems. Its refractive index is high at 2.15–2.18 (compared to 2.42 for diamonds) and its luster is Adamantine lustre. Its dispersion is very high at 0.058–0.066, exceeding that of diamond (0.044).

how long does it last?

Cubic zirconia is considerably less durable than a real diamond. They can be worn daily for between 2 to 3 years and up to 5 years if someone wears them occasionally. As cubic zirconia stones age, they tend to become scratched and cloudy.

hinged huggie/hoop earrings

My hinged huggie/hoop earrings are not clasping correctly. How do I fix this?

The closure to your earring may become loose or unaligned over time with repeated wear. This is normal! You can adjust the post so it clasps securely again.

Using light pressure, gently push the post of your earring so it aligns with the back of the earring. Test the closure by clasping the earrings. When the post is aligned correctly, you will hear a clicking sound when you close the clasp. If the earring is still feeling loose, repeat the process and test the closure again.
